We want every official, coach, and volunteer to be able to use this site, including people who use assistive technology.

Our commitment

South East Michigan Volleyball Officials Group LLC is committed to making semvog.com accessible to everyone. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, the widely used standard for accessible websites.

What we have done

  • Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, starting with a "Skip to content" link, and keyboard focus is clearly outlined
  • Pages use a logical heading structure and labeled menus so screen readers can navigate them
  • Every form field has a visible label, required fields are marked for assistive technology, and form errors are announced when they appear
  • Text and buttons meet WCAG color contrast requirements
  • The site adapts to phones, tablets, and computers, and text can be enlarged without breaking the layout
  • Animation on the home page is turned off for anyone whose device is set to reduce motion
  • Dates, times, and locations are written out in text rather than shown only in images

How we checked

On September 30, 2026, we tested the main pages of the site, including the schedule, event registration forms, and the new official interest form, with the axe automated accessibility checker at both phone and desktop sizes, and we checked keyboard navigation by hand. No issues were found. Automated testing cannot catch every barrier, and we have not yet tested with every screen reader and assistive technology, so we welcome feedback on anything that does not work for you.

Known limitations

  • Sites we link to. Registration and training for AAU, USA Volleyball, SportsEngine, and 3Step Sports take place on those organizations' own websites, which we do not control.
  • PDF documents. The AAU Volleyball Handbook and the USAV rule book are PDFs published by those organizations, and they may not be fully accessible.
  • Membership card photo. Most event registrations ask for a photo of your AAU membership card. If uploading a photo is difficult for you, contact us and we will help you register another way.
