Who does SEMVOG provide officials for?
We staff high school volleyball programs, including the Macomb Area Conference, along with AAU clubs and tournaments throughout South East Michigan.
What do I need before I can work a SEMVOG event?
Every official working a SEMVOG event must hold a current AAU adult non athlete membership, which includes a background check, with our club code added. The certification page walks through each step.
I already have an AAU membership. How do I add the club code?
You can add club code U7MJYRZSW to an existing membership without starting over. Follow the instructions on the certification page.
Do I need a separate registration for high school matches?
Yes. High school matches require a current MHSAA officials registration for the school year. AAU membership alone does not qualify you for high school assignments.
How are assignments made?
High school assignments are made through Arbiter. When you receive an assignment, accept or decline it promptly so the schedule can be filled with confidence.
Why does keeping my availability calendar current matter so much?
An outdated calendar is the most common cause of assigning problems. If a date is not blocked, you can be assigned to it, and declining later means a match has to be restaffed on short notice. Block every date you cannot work as soon as you know about it. Declines caused by commitments that were never blocked count under the group availability policy.
I am new to officiating. Can I still join?
Absolutely. We train and observe new officials and pair them with experienced partners as they build confidence. Start with the new official interest form or contact us directly.
How do I request officials for my school or tournament?
Contact us with your dates, location, number of courts, and level of play. The earlier we hear from you, the better we can staff your event.
